What Should You Care About In The Workplace?

"Why do you feel so negative about professional women?"

The hostess of the radio station asked me.

"Well, I did not."

I replied.

The host pointed out that I have just written a novel *.

The book describes a female chief economist who loves a colleague from a large oil company. She is more worried about love than worrying about her latest oil price forecast or renewable energy prospects.

"Surely this is not a positive description of career women?"

The host asked.

I replied, this is not the case. I am not describing career women, but rather describing life experiences.

Crazy and enchanting love is more disturbing than any oil price forecast.

It is the most important thing in the duration of this kind of love (usually not too long).

The host didn't seem to be convinced by me.

If I had thought more about it, I would have pulled Shakespeare (Shakespeare) as a shield and suggested that Savon did not write the sonnet at first. This is no coincidence: should I compare this spreadsheet to summer?

This is not just because love is enchanting, but also because most of the things we should think about during our working hours are mostly unappealing.

Freud (Freud) said that love and work are the two cornerstones of mankind.

Which is more important and allows us to wake up at 3 in the morning depends on the specific situation: sometimes it is love, sometimes work.

But even work is not an important event, but a career within three feet of our desk.

I work in newspaper industry. This is a sunset industry.

Have I ever had half an hour of sleep?

No

Intellectually, I am interested in the demise of journalism, but I am emotionally unmoved.

This is because I am too old, and this prospect has little impact on me.

In the past 30 years, I have always been very concerned about employers' profits and losses.

If these profits and losses affect me, I may be worried.

When my seat looks a bit unstable, or my favorite colleague leaves, I get upset.

In other cases, I am very calm.

On the contrary, what I care about are more trivial things: the disposition of the boss, the quality of my latest column, and whether there is Maltesers in the vending machine.

This attitude may not be pleasant, but it is not half a bit affectation, and I don't think only women do.

It is unreasonable to expect oil economists to pray for oil prices that are most conducive to their companies.

Instead, they are praying for oil prices that prove their latest forecasts.

Similarly, the three candidates fought for the British Prime Minister, not just because they were concerned about the pensioners and the size of the deficit.

What they want most is to write a note on "Downing street 10".

A fun trick in the workplace is to pretend to be concerned about events.

If you are prime minister, you must play the game seriously.

If you are a small soldier in the company, you needn't be so true.

In fact, sometimes you can even show a glare of joy when a company is in trouble.

After all, bad news is usually quite exciting.

But in very few cases, we should be concerned with the great events of a thousand miles away.

If I were an employee of BP, when I saw pictures of seabirds covered with orange substances, I thought 11 employees were killed, and "my oil" was floating on the sea, I thought I would feel guilty, even though I knew it had nothing to do with me.

But even under such circumstances, such disasters will not linger in the hearts of men and women in the workplace: real and trivial life will soon fill their minds.

A few months ago, I interviewed Lord Brown (Lord Browne).

The former head of BP told me that he had never been sleepless due to his work.

He said, if you are the kind of person who worries too much about your work, you should not be a CEO of a big company.

Some might say that if Lord Brown had more refreshments, BP's safety record might look better now.

But this is slander.

I stand beside Lord Brown: what we should really worry about is personal affairs.

Ironically, in the end, it was the personal affairs of Lord Brown and the characters in my novels who were battered.

Change Of Marketing Paradigm In Twenty-First Century

We say that the essential difference between marketing in twenty-first Century and marketing in twentieth Century lies in expanding consumers or subdividing consumers. Although only ten years later, the marketing concept in twenty-first Century has had a major dislocation with the marketing idea in twentieth Century. In twentieth Century, the marketing concept advocated making money by subdividing the consumers. In twenty-first Century, the marketing theory advocated making money by expanding th
