At the recent "2014 International spin At the annual meeting of the Manufacturers' Federation in China, Wang Tiankai, president of the China Textile Industry Federation, said that since the international financial crisis, the world economic situation has undergone profound changes, and the world's international trade pattern, industrial division system, advanced manufacturing mode, production organization form and other important changes have taken place. At present, China's textile industry is in an important development transition period, As a member of the global textile industry system, while facing the unstable and uncertain factors of the current world economy, China's textile industry is also facing major changes in the macro situation such as the shift of China's economic growth, structural adjustment, and policy transformation, which highlights the inherent structural contradictions accumulated by the industry over a long period of time. "Further deepening industrial restructuring, accelerating transformation and upgrading, and striving to adapt to the new normal of the world and China's economy have become the fundamental task of China's textile industry development. Promoting transformation and upgrading is an inevitable requirement of China's textile industry.".

Wang Tiankai pointed out that with the changes in the external situation in recent years, the development mode of China's textile industry is also changing, and the total scale of the industry has expanded. However, compared with the first decade of this century, the growth momentum has significantly weakened, and the total scale of China's textile industry has increased, showing a trend of gradual slowdown. Data shows that in 2013, China's total fiber processing volume reached 48.5 million tons, an increase of 17.4% compared with 2010, with an average annual growth of 5.5%. In the first decade of this century, 2001-2010, the average annual growth was 11.7%, with a decline of 6.2%. In 2013, the total textile export volume was 212 billion dollars, with an increase of 37.8%, with an average growth of 11.3%, 3.8 percentage points slower than the average growth of 15.1% in the previous decade, From 2011 to 2013, the average annual growth rate of enterprises above designated size nationwide was 12%, 6.8 percentage points lower than that of the previous decade, and the average annual growth rate of total assets was 9%, 3.1 percentage points lower than that of the previous decade. "The data change shows that China's textile industry has entered a cycle of change from high-speed growth to medium speed growth. It has begun a new historical stage of in-depth structural adjustment and accelerated transformation and upgrading.".

In addition, the industrial structure of China's textile industry has changed. In 2013, China's output of industrial textiles reached 11.3 million tons, an increase of 37.3% over 2010. The proportion of fiber processing in three categories of end products, clothing, household products and production and use, was adjusted from 51:29:3:20 in 2010 to 48:29:23 in 2013. Wang Tiankai introduced that industrial textiles have effectively driven the development of emerging fiber materials and equipment manufacturing. "In 2013, chemical fiber accounted for 80% of the total fiber processing volume in China, 10 percentage points higher than that in 2010. The domestic differentiation rate exceeded 50%, which effectively guaranteed the stable supply of textile raw materials under the condition of high cotton price difference at home and abroad for many years; In 2013, the output of textile recycled fiber exceeded 6 million tons, accounting for 12.4% of the fiber processing output from 9.6% in 2010. The role of textile recycling economy in strengthening the guarantee of raw materials is gradually emerging.

However, Wang Tiankai also pointed out that China's textile industry is also facing many pressures in the process of structural adjustment, especially the rising cost and the increasingly intensified resource environment. In recent years, the cost of production factors in China's textile industry has continued to rise, with the average annual growth rate of per capita wages exceeding 10%, and the wage level is far higher than that of developing neighbors. The price of cotton continues to be more than 30% higher than the international market, and the cost advantage of the industry in international competition basically disappears. In the face of resource shortage, the Chinese government has become more stringent in the regulatory standards and task development requirements for low-carbon environmental protection. Relying on the improvement of added value, the textile industry realized energy consumption per unit of added value in 2012, and the intensity of carbon dioxide emissions decreased by 25% compared with 2010, and the water consumption per unit of added value in 2012 decreased by 30% compared with 2010. Compared with developing countries, there is still a certain gap. The progress of emission reduction of major pollutants in the industry is relatively slow, and there is still a gap with the government's requirements for emissions. "Accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, improve total factor productivity and sustainable development capacity, effectively solve resource and environmental bottlenecks, and better participate in the international community market Competition is an urgent task for the development of China's textile industry.
